Worship Team Leader


The Worship Team Leader will work closely with our pastor in cultivating worship services and worship teams that help lead our congregation to see and savor the greatness of God in Jesus Christ, in the power of the Spirit. Fostering dynamic contemporary, congregational worship, singing the best of the old and the best of the new, is a key priority for our church and we are seeking an individual who’s called and gifted by God in the following areas:




  1. Planning our weekly Sunday 10:00am worship service. Choosing congregational hymns and songs that engage the congregation and support the reading and preaching of God’s Word.


  1. Modeling and leading heartfelt worship in an invitational style – that draws people in, encourages participation, and points people to Jesus.


  1. Recruiting, auditioning, teaching, and training musicians in the church to serve the congregation as a team with musical skill and humility.


  1. Leading weekly rehearsals that serve a dual purpose:

    1. Preparation for Sunday  

    2. Cultivation of Christ-centered community.


  1. Supporting the Grace Place Culture and having a vision for where God is calling our congregation and our musicians to grow in new expressions of worship.


  1. Serving as a member of the ministry team at The Grace Place, demonstrating a commitment to this congregation and its mission.


  1. Oversee operation and training of the AV/Production team and volunteers.


  1. Familiar with ProPresenter, Video capture and upload to social media, compression and expansion of files, management of YouTube accounts and uploads, and able to train others in these skills.


  1. Assist as needed in special events and other tasks assigned by the Senior Pastor supporting the ministry at the Grace Place Church.

Reports to Lead Pastor

Primary Role: The primary role of the Worship Leader is to craft an engaging and excellent worship experience during all Grace Place Church services.

You are up-to-date on the latest trends and standards of contemporary worship within the local church to include technologies that support music, sound mixing, and video recording.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

-Define the weekly, monthly, quarterly plan for worship at your church 

-Support a God-honoring culture within the church body in personal conduct and interaction with volunteers and staff

-Coordinate with Lead Pastor to design worship experiences that support sermon themes
-Communicate the standards of excellence with various team leaders and staff 
-Collaborate with the A/V and Worship team members about weekend services 
-Develop consistent standards of excellence in worship ministry areas 
-Recap and discuss highs and lows in worship with ministry leaders and team members              -Develop various teams of musicians for future growth and development 
-Develop a musical growth strategy for students and volunteers 
-Develop service order and plan using planning center, to include applicable announcements

-Support engagement of Youth musicians and vocalists on 5th Sundays
-Build an annual song list for your church 
-Provide ongoing training for worship volunteers and leaders

-Develop and supervise volunteers to record weekly services and upload them to social media
-Develop rotations of volunteers and staff members for A/V and Worship teams


The Goal: Crafting excellent, inspiring, and distraction-free worship services is the primary goal for the Worship Leader at The Grace Place Church. Balancing commitment, time and talents of many volunteers and staffers to the organization forward will be a huge win.

Position Summary:

The Worship Leader is responsible for overseeing and leading the music in our worship services.

The Grace Place Church is seeking a qualified Worship Leader who can oversee our worship services. This person will create an inviting and engaging worship service while carrying out the vision of the leadership of The Grace Place in order to lead a healthy movement of unwavering worship. The Worship Leader must have a vision for other art forms in addition to music and must have a vision for using creative arts to aid in leading people to God. Keep informed on current music, artistic methods, materials, teachings, trends, promotion and administration and seeks to utilize them where appropriate. The Worship Leader is a leader who can communicate direction in a way that inspires those around him to join in the pursuit of that vision. Must be able to build strong teams that function in ministering to the congregation, as well as to each other. Works to model and teach true worship to Worship & A/V Teams as well as the whole of the Grace Place Church congregation

St. Luke United Methodist Church - Director of Contemporary Worship

The Director of Contemporary Worship is a spiritual and organizational leader who oversees the worship and music ministry of the contemporary worship service at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Enterprise, Alabama. Oversight of the worship ministry includes but is not limited to leading our community worship; implementation of the church’s vision, mission, and strategy in the area of worship; leading St. Luke’s worship band, Ten Cities; ensuring each worship service is led in such a way that the congregation has an opportunity for an authentic encounter with God’s presence. A successful candidate will demonstrate clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing relationship with God. They will have experience in leading worship in a contemporary setting and a calling to serve in this type of leadership position.

In addition to leading the contemporary service, the Director of Contemporary Worship will also work with the Director of Traditional worship to coordinate the extensive music ministry of St. Luke.

Primarily responsible for various production processes, both manual (i.e. using a knife to cut and remove poultry parts) and automated, associated with disassembly of poultry into customer and/or company specifications. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
