City of Enterprise Opens Donated Goods Center
April 29, 2011- In partnership with Coffee County Emergency Management Association, the City of Enterprise is opening a donated goods center to collect items for the tornado victims in North Alabama.
Residents can drop items off at the Enterprise Recreation Center Gymnasium, 311 E. Brunson St., Enterprise beginning today, Friday, April 29, from 7:00am until 7:00pm. The Center will be open Monday through Saturday from 7:00am until 7:00pm and on Sunday from 1:00pm until 4:00pm. It will remain open until CCCEMA instructs the city to close.
“We need to help each other, the whole state came to our aid when we needed it, and this is a chance to pay it forward,” said Enterprise Mayor Kenneth Boswell.
CCEMA Director Larry Walker said that the most immediate needs are water and non-perishable items such as canned goods and boxed foods. Personal items such as paper towels, toilet paper, personal wipes, toothpaste, soap, etc will also be accepted as non-perishable items. Perishable food items, clothing, and furniture will not be accepted by the city at this time. If you have these items, please contact a private or faith-based organization.
If you would like to make a monetary donation or volunteer, visit www.servealabama.gov.
The City encourages everyone to do what they can and keep the victims in their thoughts and prayers.
